僕ももう32でおっさんなので年長者ぶって若い人に言いたいことがあるとすれば「無理をしない」「悪い場所からは早めに逃げろ」ってことかなあ。物事がうまくいかないのは自分の努力が足りないからじゃなくて、その場所が自分に合ってないからかもしれない、っていうのを検討してみてもいいかもしれない。大体僕は努力をしたりつらい思いをして頑張って何かを成し遂げるってのをあまり信じていない。何か偉大なことをやってる人って、大体の場合、歯を食いしばって頑張ってるんじゃなくて、楽しそうにそれをやっているものだから。僕が京大に合格したときだって、友達もいないしすることがないから受験勉強をゲーム感覚で楽しんでやってたら受かったって感じだし。僕の組んだプログラムで好評を博したものも、別に頑張った意識はなくてただただ一人で楽しんで作っていただけだし。うまくいかないとか合わないと思ったら逃げるのも大事。自分の「これは嫌だ」って感覚や直感を押し殺さないようにしよう。嫌なことに関しては精神より身体のほうが敏感なことも多いので、身体感覚に気をつけるのもいいと思う。例えば体を壊すというのは体からの貴重なシグナルなので、しょっちゅう体調を崩しているときは自分の何かを見直してみるべき。
